Cravats

The cravat is a forerunner of the modern tie and is associated with culture and elegance, so it can make a perfect choice to finish off the wedding outfit for the groom, best man, ushers, bride’s father and other members of the bridal party.

When Croatian soldiers fought in the Thirty Years War in the 17th Century they were known for wearing white scarves made from silk around their necks. The craze caught on across Europe and over the years other colours were introduced.

Today the most popular shape of cravat is elongated, in the half-bottle shape. They may be worn with a pin and generally highlight the theme colour of your wedding, being increasingly matched to the colour of flowers or bridesmaids’ dresses.

Big colours for this summer are reds, pink sand all shades of blue. Floral designs and paisley are also incredibly popular.
It is possible to buy cravats in every shade and pattern imaginable, so don’t be shy, set your own fashion trend.
