Spring Decor

Spring is a season of light and life, and by incorporating this concept into your wedding décor your Spring celebrations will be as fun filled as nature intended.

New Beginnings
Springtime is all about starting anew: buds on the trees, new born lambs in the fields, and you are getting ready to start a new life with the man of your dreams. It’s a season of light and life, and by incorporating this concept into your wedding décor your Spring celebrations will be as fun filled as nature intended.

The key to successfully employing the very best that the season has to offer, is simplicity. Spring accents should remain in tune with your own wedding theme and colour scheme, so if you have your heart set on a gothic affair in the middle of April delicate Spring shades of cream and mint may not be very appropriate!

Many venues provide support and guidance on décor for the function area but a personal touch can make the world of difference. Foundations for your embellishments, such as candelabras, drinks tables, and vases are often supplied but it’s a good idea to inspect your venue fully set up, as this will give you a clearer impression of the decoration that will work best for your reception area.

Seasonal Sensations
Seasonal flowers and foliage are key accessories that, when used to full effect in the venue, will create an ambience resonant of bright, fresh, happy days. Arguably Springtime’s most beautiful flowers, white Lilies are classically elegant, and when arranged with green cymbidium orchids and some light foliage, a simple and natural feel is created. These can be displayed on the guest tables and in tall vases placed at both ends of the top table.

Greenery, such as cascading moss, can be used in any alcoves of your venue that might look sparse or require ‘concealment’, and when arranged correctly, it can create a gloriously natural touch, capturing the very essence of Spring.
To replicate this mood on the guest tables, glass candle votives are a cheap, yet effective way of creating a light-filled ambience. Place cards in shades of cream or white with a tie of green ribbon (or any other pastel hue) also compliment a Spring palette.

Accessorize....
Draped chair covers are an en vogue way to decorate your venue. White material is perfect for a bright, clean springtime look and a simple sash in green or lemon is a fashionable way to take the look further. This idea can be followed through to the dining tables, where white tablecloths with matching runners will complete the overall look.
For springtime favours, try mints or other small sweets in shades of white, green or lemon. These can be held in small cloth bags, matching the shades used throughout, or miniature jars tied with a pastel ribbon.
Satin or silk bags containing a light, fresh potpourri is a lasting wedding favour, which will fill homes with a heavenly reminder of your special day.
A wedding at any time of year is a hope-filled occasion, but a ceremony in the Spring is particularly special, and by making the most of what the season has to offer, you can create a setting as beautiful and elegant as Mother Nature’s palette intended.
