Where it all began: We first met at a gym, Paul was my gym instructor but there was no romance until eight years later when we met again at another gym and he decided to pursue me. There had been a gap of about four years when I did not see Paul, so I was curious as to what a date would be like, so I accepted, just for the laugh to see what would happen. The rest is history. First kiss: Oh this is hilarious. It was our third date, we went to the pictures and it was just as he walked me back to my car, (his friend told him that if he didn’t kiss me on this date that I would think that he was my gay friend) so Paul made sure to kiss me. The proposal: I really was shocked when he proposed as it was a mere six months after we started dating. He set the scene in my back garden, (I was out for the afternoon) so on my return I heard ‘Summer time’ by Ella Fitzgerald (one of my favourite divas), then I saw that the patio table was draped in a white linen cloth and on it was a big bunch of flowers, a crystal champagne bucket with a bottle of Moet chilling in frozen tropical fruit, a box of chocolates and lots of balloons tied to the flowers. I thought this was all for my birthday and was delighted. Ten minutes later I read what it said on the balloons which was, “will you marry me”. Paul dropped on one knee and proposed… sure how could I say no, he is perfect. The reception: Because we wanted a unique day we decided to hold our reception in Horetown House at Foulksmills. Photographer: Anne Doran our photographer was just amazing. It’s easy to smile for Anne as she is so charming, you feel so relaxed, you enjoy every minute. Videographer: Paul Lennart of Lens Videos. The beauty about Lens Videos is that Paul also has a 1930s vintage-style car, and if you hire both you get a great deal - champagne included.
